Every student is on a different path - some want to play classical music, some play jazz or even compose…

The teachers at NYCPianoDoctor enjoy working with children of all ages and skill levels, and use games as well as traditional teaching methods. More advanced students will work on music theory and improvisation. We even have an online catalog of hundreds of tailor-made arrangements that we use with our students!

Here's a couple videos of me teaching one of my favorite students, Max. In the first video, Max and I are playing an ear training game.

In this video, Mark Phillips teaches Ellis a few concepts about rhythm and independence of the hands. It's even harder than it looks!

Here Max is learning a little Beethoven!

In this video Max performs Canon in D.  Notice how he not only has the music memorized, but he is actually coming up with the arrangement on the spot, from the different sections he learned from the arrangement I made especially for him!  Way to go, Max!
