Jojo Mann

Johannes “Jojo” Mann is a guitarist, composer, and producer from Germany, now based in  Brooklyn, NY. A graduate of the Jazz Institute Berlin and currently studying at The City College  of New York with Paul Bollenback and Brad Shepik, he has performed at venues including  Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Bimhuis (Amsterdam), and worked with artists such as  Savannah Harris, Kit Downes, Emmanuel Michael, and Gwilym Simcock. Alongside performing,  he also writes and produces music, with recent releases featuring Berlin-based singer Zuza  Jasinska. With his band Sun Ark, which released their self-titled debut recored in 2024 on  XJazz! Music, he creates a colorful and forward-looking vision of contemporary jazz. 

Johannes is also a dedicated educator, teaching guitar, bass, music theory, and music  production (fluent in Ableton Live and Logic Pro) in both institutional settings and private  lessons for over a decade. His teaching philosophy centers on helping students build a strong  technical and theoretical foundation while encouraging them to explore their own musical  interests and develop their own artistic voice. By tailoring lessons to each student’s goals and  curiosity, he aims to make learning music a fun, personal, and inspiring process.
