BA (Cornish College of the Arts)
Jason Cairati is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer, playing and writing music in varying styles from jazz, pop, rock, classical, and electronic. A graduate of Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA. Jason had the privilege to work and perform with the world-renowned alto saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa, playing a range of indo-jazz and free-jazz compositions. He has done numerous works for video games, commercials, theater shows, and short films to his credit. He has played in a range of different bands and groups opening for artists such as Grammy-nominated Hiatus Kaiyote, De La Soul, and Allen Stone.
He has been teaching music for over a decade and has taught a wide range of ages and ability levels. His goal as a teacher is to discover the best way to teach each student. Rather than following a “one-size-fits-all” teaching method, it is important to use a wide range of books and styles to best suit each student’s needs. Jason believes it’s important to find music that the student loves and to expand their appreciation for many types of music.
